O acto foi organizado polas organizacións agropecuarias AGPM (Francia), ASAJA (España), Confagricultura (Italia), DBV(Alemaña), MTK (Finlandia) NFU (Reino Unido), e a iniciativa pública de investigación e regulación (PRRI)
As the host of the event, MEP Hannu Takkula, explicou na apertura, the event aims to promote fact finding and open discussion about the conditions under which new breeding techniques such as genome editing can deliver crops that can help farmers in the challenges of agricultural production.
O evento foi asistido por máis de 60 participantes, incluíndo deputados, agricultores, científicos, as well as representatives of EU institutions, Os estados membros, varias asociacións, e empresas do sector privado.
Moderador do evento foi Max Schulman, agricultor, membro do MTK e Presidente do Grupo de Traballo Copa-COGA dos cereais.
