Arrangementet ble organisert av jordbruksorganisasjonene AGPM (Frankrike), ASAJA (Spania), Confagricultura (Italia), DBV(Tyskland), MTK (Finland) NFU (UK), og Offentlige forsknings-og forordning Initiative (PRRI)
As the host of the event, MEP Hannu Takkula, forklart ved åpningen, the event aims to promote fact finding and open discussion about the conditions under which new breeding techniques such as genome editing can deliver crops that can help farmers in the challenges of agricultural production.
Arrangementet ble fulgt med over 60 deltakerne, inkludert parlamentsmedlemmer, bønder, forskere, as well as representatives of EU institutions, Medlemsland, ulike foreninger, og private virksomheter.
Moderator for hendelsen var Max Schulman, bonde, MTK medlem og leder av Copa-Coga arbeidsgruppe for Korn.
