Članovi PRRI sudjelovali su od 21 listopada do kraja 1 Studeni 2024 kao promatrači na UN-ovoj konferenciji o bioraznolikosti 2024, u Cali, Kolumbija.

Konferencija UN-a o biološkoj raznolikosti 2024 obuhvaća:

• the Šesnaesti sastanak Konferencije stranaka Konvencije o biološkoj raznolikosti (CBD-COP16),
• the Jedanaesti sastanak Konferencije stranaka koja služi kao sastanak stranaka Kartagenskog protokola o biološkoj sigurnosti (CPB-MOP11), i
• the Peti sastanak Konferencije stranaka koja služi kao sastanak stranaka Protokola iz Nagoye o pristupu i podjeli koristi (NP-MOP5).

Konferencija UN-a o biološkoj raznolikosti 2024 serves as a key forum for global negotiations on biodiversity, biosafety, and equitable genetic resource sharing, aimed at advancing the objectives of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), its protocols, and the Global Biodiversity Framework. Public research organisations such as PRRI play a indispensable role in these discussions by advocating for science-based policies, enhancing collaboration, and supporting innovation.

Glavni cilj sudjelovanja članova PRRI-ja u COP-ovima i MOP-ovima je biti u toku – i informirati zainteresirane članove PRRI-ja – razvoja događaja u međunarodnim pregovorima, i donijeti glas za stol koji naglašava znanost, inovacija, i rješenja utemeljena na dokazima za ciljeve CBD-a i njegovih protokola. U tu svrhu, Članovi PRRI-ja surađivali su s mnogim izaslanicima stranaka i drugim izaslanstvima promatrača.

In the preparation for and participation UN Biodiversity Conferences PRRI closely collaborates with other member organisations of the Koalicija za inovacije bioraznolikosti.

PRRI delegates focused on building strong collaborative relationships, and also participated actively in the Academia and Research caucus, in which COOPMOP2024 delegates registered under ‘Academia and Research’ collaborate (A&R contacts: Audrey Wagner (audrey.wagner @ biology.ox.ac.uk) and Hannah Nicholas (hannah.nicholas @ biology.ox.ac.uk).
